<p>Find the Preferences menu item.  For me, in OS X, this is under the &#8220;Eclipse&#8221; menu item.  Click on the &#8220;Java&#8221; item in the box which comes up.  Click on the &#8220;Installed JREs&#8221; sub-menu item.  Select your JRE and click &#8220;Edit&#8221;.  For &#8220;Default VM Arguments&#8221; put something like:</p>
