Thanks to Forrest Young of UNC, my software now is well on its way to being functional. When I feed the program this matrix of flight distances between cities, and have it project that data onto a plane, it gives me this image:
It looks like the US, which is exactly what is supposed to happen. The colors… the colors are for a feature that I’ll talk about later.
omfg y is seattle the same siz as chicago. ur prog sux dud. plus its not round dumass.
in all seriousness, this mathematical matrix as it were is very compelling. as a matter of fact it reminds me of christmas for some reason. and in addition to that i see many other implications. for instance that it’s pretty and sparkly. i have always been particularly attracted to little shiny objects. i think it has something to do with my ancient primate heritage (of which i am very proud btw).
in all seriousness for real though seriously, this stuff is pretty cool. i wonder if a cultural matrix of cities of would actually produce similar results. (la and new york: irreconcilable differences — wait, but what of la and san fran…same deal).
yes…intellect now peaking…ok, it’s gone. damn.
