Java doesn’t make it easy, but you can mess with pixels in HSB (Hue, Saturation, Brightness) as well as RGB (Red, Green, Blue). Doing so gives you opportunity for immediately trippy results. In the first picture I maxed out the saturation and Pete’s true hippy nature is revealed. The second picture took the brightness, put its value into hue and then maxed brightness and saturation.
