Voices Jam Pack

The Fish Grill said it would change it’s name to “Rockfish Grill” if Chuck, Chris and I ate there. While at SoutnPoint (camelCased?) I picked up the new Voices Jam Pack for GarageBand. Here’s a quick experiment for your ass.

My Little Porcupine

This is the song I and Mer wished they had been working on in Music and Lyrics. It’s the first recording done with new mic, guitar and all. The thrown-togetherness really comes through in excellent clarity.

Who am I ripping off here? Springsteen? Niel Diamond? Crooked Fingers? Wait a bloody second… Now that I think about it, it sounds, melody-wise, a little like “Borderline” by Mrs. Ciccone-Ritchie.

I can’t stand working on this song anymore, so I’m going to release this demo and see if you can give any suggestions as to how it can be better. Yes, Dan, more drum solos. I hear you.

Listen to: Eatin’ Poutine.

i love you more than ketchup
i love you more than hollandaise
i love you more than vinegar
i love you more than mayonnaise

when i look in your eyes
there comes a shocking surprise
you know I just cant disguise
I love those gravy and fries

The only thing that I love in this world more than you
is eatin’ poutine

baby, you’re the best
second only to a condiment
you know that you’re soooo good!
right after my comfort food

you can call me crazy
call me anything
if there’s one thing that I mean
don’t get between me and poutine

Appreciate

Steph and I were making up our very own Ben Gibbard songs last night and so I thought I’d record one today. It started out as a parody, but now I sort of like it. Curse you, Gibbard!

Give ‘er a listen!

I started a photo album
and replaced every picture of you
with a T-bill

It’s the only way
We will ever appreciate

I went to the farmer’s market today
and bought a cadburry easter egg
filled with gold

and I whine about it

My lips are swollen
i never told them about you
silence is golden
they never know when it’s you

Sympatico

I sat down to record a song that’s been in my head, but this one came out first.

Sympatico.

Mountain Man (music)

The (a) recorded version.

Will someone who can sing please do this kind of thing for me? In between the off-notes you can hear me wheezing as I was having an asthma episode.

Meredith and I took a guitar down to Wilson park and worked on this song. (It originally featured “spam” as a prominent theme.) As I sang it into the woods a fox came out of the woods, looked me in the eye and spoke: “Tame me!”

Mountain Man Song

Recorded song to follow shortly.

PS - Cynthia wants me to mention that her son asked her today where her pee-pee is. Her son is 17 years old.
